Everything parents ask.Answered plainly.
How the weekly screen time report works, what it costs, and what it never touches.
The basics
What is KidScreen Report?
+
KidScreen Report is an Android app for parents in India. You install it on your child's phone, and every Sunday at 7 PM you receive one WhatsApp message showing how long the phone was used that week, which apps were used most, how often the phone was unlocked, and how much it was used late at night.
How can I check my child's screen time without taking their phone?
+
Install KidScreen Report on your child's Android phone once. After that you do not need to touch the phone again: the weekly report arrives on your own WhatsApp every Sunday at 7 PM India time.
What does the weekly report show?
+
Total screen time for the week, the daily average and how it changed from the week before, the most-used day, phone unlocks per day, late-night use between 10 pm and 6 am, and the top 5 apps with the time spent on each.
When does the report arrive?
+
Every Sunday at 7 PM India time, on the parent's WhatsApp. The first report arrives on the Sunday after the phone is paired.
Privacy and safety
Is KidScreen Report spyware?
+
No. KidScreen Report is a transparent tool. The app icon is always visible on the child's phone, a notice saying the app is on stays in the notification bar, and the app can be uninstalled at any time. It never reads messages, calls, photos, browsing history or location. It only measures which apps were used and for how long.
What does the app never collect?
+
Messages, chats, emails, calls, contacts, photos, videos, files, browsing history, searches, location, and anything shown or typed inside an app. It collects app names, minutes of use, the time of day, and a count of phone unlocks.
Can I delete my child's data?
+
Yes. A parent can delete the usage data of every child on the account in one click, from the dashboard or from the app, once every 30 days. You can also ask for the whole account to be erased at any time from the delete data page.
Does it block apps or set time limits?
+
No. KidScreen Report only reports. It does not block apps, lock the phone or set limits. It is meant to give parents real numbers to talk about with their child.
Setting up
How do I set it up?
+
Sign up on the website and add your child's mobile number. Install the app on your child's phone and enter the same number; the app shows the parent's name so you can confirm it is the right account. Then turn on the few switches it asks for, such as usage access. The app shows every tap with a picture of the screen, and setup takes about 2 minutes.
Which phones does it work on?
+
Android phones running Android 9 or newer, including Xiaomi, Redmi, Realme, Vivo, Oppo and Samsung. It does not work on iPhone.
Does my child need WhatsApp?
+
No. The weekly report goes to the parent's WhatsApp, not the child's. The child's phone only needs an internet connection from time to time to send its usage data.
Which languages are supported?
+
The app and the WhatsApp report are available in English and Hindi.
Price
How much does KidScreen Report cost?
+
₹149 a month for one child, or ₹1,199 a year for one child. On the yearly plan each extra child costs ₹999 a year, for up to 5 children. Every account starts with a 7-day free trial.
Is there a free trial?
+
Yes. Every new account gets 7 days free for one child, and no card is needed. When the trial ends, reports stop and the app locks until you recharge.
Does it renew automatically?
+
No. It is a prepaid service: you recharge for a month or a year when you choose to. Your card is never charged on its own.
Can I get a report for more than one child?
+
Yes. The yearly plan covers up to 5 children, and each child gets a separate weekly report. You can add a child in the middle of the year and pay only for the months left.
