Updated · 3 min read
Short answer
Sign up at joinlyy.com with your WhatsApp number and add your child's mobile number. Install KidScreen Report on your child's Android phone, enter the same number and turn on the switches it asks for. From the next Sunday, one WhatsApp message arrives at 7 PM with the week's screen time, top apps, unlocks and late-night use.
Set up a weekly screen time report on WhatsApp
- 1Create an account on joinlyy.com with your name and WhatsApp number. The first 7 days are free and no card is needed.
- 2Add your child with their name and mobile number.
- 3Install KidScreen Report on your child's Android phone (Android 9 or newer) and enter the same mobile number.
- 4Check that the app shows your name, then confirm.
- 5Turn on the switches the app asks for: usage access, the status notice, and battery settings. The app shows every tap with a picture of the screen.
- 6Wait for Sunday: the report arrives on your WhatsApp at 7 PM India time.
What you need
A WhatsApp number for the parent, and the child's Android phone running Android 9 or newer. The child does not need WhatsApp. The phone needs the internet from time to time to send its numbers.
What the WhatsApp report shows
Total screen time for the week, the daily average and how it changed from the week before, the most-used day, phone unlocks per day, late-night use between 10 pm and 6 am, and the top 5 apps with the time on each.
On the website dashboard you can also pick any date range and see each day, the hours of the day the phone is used most, and the longest stretch of back-to-back use.
If the report stops
Most often the phone's battery saver has closed the app. Open the app on the child's phone and finish the battery and autostart steps; the app shows the exact screens for Samsung, Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO, Oppo, Realme, OnePlus, Vivo, iQOO and Huawei phones. Reports also pause when the plan is not active.
